Meet the Team

Rick Sarmiento

Lead Pastor

Rick was born in Chicago and grew up in the city's western suburbs.  Despite being a Northern Virginia transplant,  he is a faithful Chicago sports fan in and out of season. Rick attended Norwich University, the Military College of Vermont and upon graduation served as commissioned officer in the U.S. Army.  After his tour of active duty service, Rick worked for a soup company, a hardware store chain, and consulting firm before becoming an executive recruiter.  Along the way, he added a new role to his plate - church planter - following his conviction that the Church of Jesus Christ is the hope of the world. Following a series of God moments and a call to ministry, Rick and group of friends began to meet to what would become New Season Community Church.

Rick holds a BS in Mathematics and an MBA from Norwich and a Master of Divinity from Regent University.   He holds ministry credentials with the Assemblies of God.   Additionally,  Rick is a veteran of  Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Aside from his career in the marketplace and role as the pastor of New Season, Rick's most important calling is being dad to Ricky, C.J., Micayla, Alex, and Angelina. He and his family have lived in Northern Virginia since 2002.
